* DORECO HOLDS 1ST MEDICAL MISSIONDecember 11, 2011 marks the DORECO’S First Medical Mission with a theme “Medical Mission Alay sa Life-Liners 2011”. The said outreach program caters the life-line consumers of DORECO and senior-citizens within the province of Davao Oriental. There were 120 member-consumers served during the 1-day Medical Mission organized by the DORECO.In partnership with Dr. Jessica T. Lorejo, MD, DFM who comes from Mati City, Davao Oriental, the medical mission was successfully held together with the generous and kind loving assistance of Dr. Alvin V. Amoguis, Dr. Lumira M. Lagapa, and some nurses including Mr. Airon Jon, RN, son of a DORECO employee. Free medical consultation, ECG, FBS, ABI examinations and free medicines and vitamins were availed by the 120 member-consumers.The same occasion was supported by DORECO Board of Directors headed by its President, Dir. Luisito S. Gregorio who expressed his commitment to support the holding of DORECO’s Annual Medical Mission. Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Gregory A. Dukil likewise committed for the continuing implementation of medical outreach program and other programs for member-consumers’ welfare and development. * INTENSIFYING DORECO’S SITIO ELECTRIFICATION PROGRAM FOR 2011Twenty-Three (23) sitios were energized by the DORECO workforce with an impressive record period of only ninety (90) days. The National Electrification Administration (NEA) and the DORECO in partnership with the Representatives of District I –Cong. Nelson “Boy” Dayanghirang and Dist. II – Congw. Thelma Z. Almario and with the active support from the local leaders has inspiringly accepted the challenge of Philippine President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III to energize 1,520 sitios in the country exactly before the year 2011 ends.Residents from said sitios welcomed the year 2012 with electricity in their respective homes. The people were very grateful for receiving power services which they have longed for ever since the past and some have started doing small enterprise to improve their quality of life. The DORECO workforce manifests its strong commitment not only to fulfill its mandate of total rural electrification as mandated by law but likewise to uplift the people’s lives especially those living in the rural areas. * DORECO BAGS MAJOR AWARDS DURING NEA’S LUMENS AWARD FOR 2011 PERFROMANCEThe Davao Oriental Electric Cooperative, Inc. (DORECO) receives major awards during the NEA-EC Lumens Awards for 2011 held at Waterfront Insular Hotel last April 27, 2012. The National Electrification Administration (NEA) has awarded DORECO for its operations for the year 2011 as EC of the Year for Extra Large Category in recognition for its outstanding performance in the technical, financial and institutional aspects of its operations. Chief Executive Officer – Engr. Gregory A. Dukil was also awarded as Pedro G. Dumol (PGD) Best GM of the Year in recognition of his being the Best GM for the last five (5) years. A special citation was also given to DORECO for its valuable contribution to the attainment of the 1,520 sitio energization program supported by President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino, III. The award was handed by the Department of Energy Secretary Jose Rene D. Almendras, NEA Administrator Edita S. Bueno and by the NEA Board of Administrators. The DORECO family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the leaders of Davao Oriental who have done their part in the implementation of its sitio electrification program and appreciation to all its member-consumers who have been consistently supportive to the policies and programs of the DORECO. * DORECO @ 34It was another remarkable year for the DORECO as it reached its 34th Founding Anniversary last December 30, 2011. The whole day celebration started with a Eucharistic Mass officiated by Fr. Carlos P. Baquial at the Divine Mercy Shrine and Parish. A formal turnover of the laptop from the DORECO in partnership with REDF to the principal and teachers of Sta. Cruz Elementary School, Barangay Don Salvador Lopez, City of Mati, Davao Oriental was held during a short program at the DORECO Unity and Friendship Center. Everyone was at his/her best during the evening gala that was held at the newly established Lane’s Kita-anan located in the heart of the City of Mati. The awarding of plaques and certificates to the Length of Service awardees highlighted the said affair. The Board of Directors were also given special tribute by the employees who later on shared their words of wisdom and encouraged the entire workforce to perform to the best of their abilities for the good of the company, its entire workforce and its member-consumers. The atmosphere then turned gay when the DORECO Birit @ 34, a singing contest, participated by a representative from each month’s birthday celebrants commenced. The audience was ecstatic during the rendition of each performer and loud cheering roared up every corner of the venue. It was indeed a night filled with fun and laughter. * AGMA 2011The DORECO’s 29th Annual General Membership Assembly was successfully conducted last July 9, 2011 at the Unity and Friendship Center, DORECO Headquarter, City of Mati, Davao Oriental with its theme “The Dream Goes On...Empowering Lives Beyond Rural Electrification”. The same event was attended by 3,102 member-consumers from all over the Province of Davao Oriental who were happily welcomed by the entire DORECO workforce through their songs and the distribution of the tokens of appreciation. The presence of the local leaders of this Province was a strong manifestation of their valuable support to the rural electrification program and to the various programs of DORECO. The DORECO organization through the leadership of its Board of Directors headed by its President-Dir. Luisito S. Gregorio and its CEO Engr. Gregory A. Dukil is resolute to give the best services to the member-consumers and to maintain efficiency in its operation through commitment, hardwork, and unity. The DORECO again prided the awards it had received from the National Electrification Administration for its 2010 performance. These could never be attained without the invaluable support of the member-consumers who greatly contributed to the triumphs of the cooperative. During the meeting proper, the general assembly was able to pass three resolutions that would redound to the benefit of the consumers and to the organization.
